EVALUACIÓN DEL TRATAMIENTO DE LA BRONCONEUMONÍA BACTERIANA EN PACIENTES ADULTOS MAYORES / TREATMENT EVALUATION OF BACTERIAL BRONCHOPNEUMONIA IN ELDERLY PATIENTS

Resumen

La Bronconeumonía Bacteriana se encuentra entre las 10 primeras causas de muerte en Cuba en pacientes de 60 años y más, por lo que resulta de especial interés evaluar la calidad del tratamiento utilizado en esta patología. El trabajo fue realizado en el Centro de Investigaciones sobre Longevidad, Envejecimiento y Salud (CITED) e incluyó a todos los pacientes hospitalizados durante diciembre del 2015. Para ello, se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo de utilización de medicamentos, del tipo indicación-prescripción. El universo de estudio estuvo compuesto por los pacientes ingresados en este período y la muestra seleccionada correspondió con treinta de ellos, escogidos aleatoriamente. Los datos necesarios fueron tomados de la Historia Clínica de los pacientes, entre ellos: edad, sexo, antecedentes patológicos y medicamentos indicados. La calidad del tratamiento se valoró teniendo en cuenta la indicación y el esquema de tratamiento de los medicamentos prescritos en comparación con lo referido en el Protocolo Antimicrobiano para el tratamiento de la Bronconeumonía Bacteriana aprobado en el CITED y el Formulario Nacional de Medicamentos vigente en la actualidad, siendo correctos el 97% de los tratamientos indicados.

Abstract

Bacterial Bronchopneumonia is among the 10 leading causes of death in Cuba in patients 60 years and older, so it is of special interest to evaluate the quality of treatment used in this pathology. Therefore this study was carried out at the Center for Research on Longevity, Aging and Health (CITED) and included all hospitalized patients during December 2015. With this purpose we carried out a descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study of the use of drugs, indication and prescription. The study group consisted of the patients admitted during this period and the selected sample corresponded to thirty of them, chosen at random. The necessary data was taken from the clinical history of the patients, including: age, sex, pathological history and medications indicated. The quality of the treatment was assessed taking into account the indication and the schedule of treatment of the prescribed drugs compared to that referred in the Antimicrobial Protocol for the treatment of the BB approved in the CITED and the National Formulary of Medicines currently in force, Being correct 97% of the indicated treatments.
